Nijinsky
This production is a tribute to the "clown of God": to dance and otherwise he was not born, said a contemporary about dancer Waslaw Nijinsky. Gifted with enormous bounce and outstanding sensitivity, the genius was transfigured into a legend, to the being "half man, half God"; the dancer and choreographer born in Kiev in 1889 described himself in his diary records. When he died in London in 1950, he had spent over 30 years almost uninterrupted in hospitals - yet Nijinsky's fame has never faded. With these recordings of today, the famous Kirov ballet recalls his sensational performances in the choreographies Mikhail Fokines, with whom Nijinsky had simply collaborated congenially.
