An early edition published in the same year as the first.In full morocco binding with marbled endpapers.The Lady of the Lake is one of Sir Walter Scott's classic poems, composed of six cantos, each of which concerns the action of a single day. The work was largely influential and inspired the revival of Romanticism in Scotland.The poem has three main plots: the contest to win the love of Ellen Douglas among three men, the feud and reconciliation of King James V of Scotland and James Douglas, and a war between the Lowland Scots and the Highland clans. In full morocco binding with marbled endpapers. Externally, smart. With moderate rubbing to the extremities, heaviest to the edges and spine. Marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound.
