The Last Journals of David Livingstone in Central Africa, from 1865 to His Death is a two-volume work published in 1874 by John Murray in London. Edited by Horace Waller, a close associate of Livingstone and an anti-slavery advocate, the journals chronicle the final years of Livingstone's explorations in Africa.
The volumes include detailed accounts of his journeys, observations, and the circumstances leading up to his death in 1873. Notably, the work also features narratives provided by his loyal attendants, Chuma and Susi, who played a crucial role in preserving and transporting his body and journals back to BritainThe original editions are richly illustrated, containing a frontispiece portrait of Livingstone, 20 full-page wood engravings (some based on his own sketches), numerous in-text illustrations, and two folding mapsone of which is housed in a pocket at the end of Volume I.
