The Lazy Pianist
How to play anything on the piano without reading music
by Jack Quinlan
The Lazy Pianist could be the book you have been waiting for...
Something standing between many a person and their dream of playing the piano is the difficulty of learning to read music. Use The Lazy Pianist to sidestep this obstacle and...
The key to the Lazy Pianist is the way in which the music is presented. Each piano key is assigned a number and all you do is match the numbers in the Lazy Music to the numbers on the piano keys. A Lazy Keyfinder which rests on your piano is included.
Lazy Music is easy to understand and apply and can be used to learn music as simple or as complicated as you choose. I have used it to learn Richard Clayderman's Ballad for Adeline (not included), as well as many pieces from David Foster's beautiful "The Symphony Sessions" CD (not included).
Question : How do I decide between using The Lazy Pianist and other more conventional methods? Answer : If learning to read music is your primary objective then more conventional methods may be the option for you. The Lazy Pianist is for the person who wants to play a handful of high quality pieces of music whilst learning as little as humanly possible in the process. Question : How long does it take to learn a piece of music? Answer : At the risk of sounding evasive, it really does depend on the individual, the amount of practice put in, and the length and complexity of the piece of music. Each time you master a new piece your skills improve and learning the next one becomes easier and quicker. Question : Can I switch from The Lazy Pianist to conventional methods later on? Answer : Yes, although it will require you changing your way of thinking. The Lazy Pianist is totally different and you will need to start over from scratch. Question : Should I buy it for my children? Answer : Sending your children for lessons with a good teacher should always be your first choice. Question : What age group can use it? Answer : The Lazy Pianist adopts an adult approach and is best suited to young adults and older. Although younger children love it because it is so simple, they would require assistance from an adult to make progress.
