Hardcover with dust jacket. Binding is tight and clear and crisp white papers. Published in 1973 by A. A. Balkema, Cape Town with 303 pages and b/w photographs. There are a few stamps. On front end page is stamp, one on title page and on page 303. See photographs. Gilt lettering to faux leather spine. The d/j has some damage to spine top and corners, "dirty" mark to front and spine. Now covered with a removable plastic film. The stamps indicate that the book once was the property of the Suid-Afrikaanse Instituut, Amsterdam, Keizersgracht 141. From the front flap: "This intelligent and entertaining account of the Cape has become a classic". No shipping overseas.
