UNUSUAL COLLECTORS' ITEM!! The Life of Ian Fleming, by John Pearson, 1966. 1st Edition. ex libris Ian Lancaster Fleming. His brother, Lieutenant Colonel Robert Peter Fleming OBE DL (31 May 1907 18 August 1971) was a British adventurer, journalist, soldier and travel writer. He was the elder brother of Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond. After the death of his brother Ian in 1964, Peter Fleming served on the board of Glidrose, Ltd, the company purchased by Ian to hold the literary rights to his professional writing, particularly the James Bond novels and short stories. The ex libris shows it as part of Flemings library but the book was printed in 1966 and Fleming died in 1964. Fleming's brother Peter took over the family estate so it feasible he maintained the library. Peter had several sons - one called Nicholas Peter Val Fleming (19391995) - almost certainly the writer of the inscription (opposite title page).
