No d.j. but a fine copy with the gilt lion decoration to the front board with a double circular border. No wear, inscriptions or fading. 

This is the first edition, fourth impression, january 1908, the first edition, first impression was published three months previously.

The Tsavo Man-Eaters were a pair of man-eating lions in the Tsavo which were responsible for the deaths of a number of construction workers on the Kenya-Uganda railway between March and December 1898. The significance of this lion pair was their unusual behavior of killing men and the manner of their attacks. .
