This is the second impression of the first edition published by Jonathan Cape in London. It was published one month after the 1st impression, in May 1965. The book itself has bright clean boards with bright gilt on spine. Leaves are clean and bright and binding tight. The top edge is lightly dusted and foxed and there are two very small light marks at the top of the side edge, so I am grading the book conservatively as very good, although it presents as excellent to near fine. The dust jacket has been protected since purchase and is in bright near fine condition, not price clipped. There is a very small closed tear on the side of the back flap at the fold, less than 1.5 cm, that cannot be seen when the book is covered with plastic. The terrific dust jacket illustration by Richard Chopping can be fully enjoyed on both sides of this book.
