The documents here for the first time published as a complete series cover Robert Moffat's five visits to Moselekatse, from 1829 to 1859. In the main they are the journal-letters he wrote almost invariably day by day to his wife Mary at Kuruman, sending them down in packets as opportunity offered. Their narrative is amplified by extracts from letters to his brother Richard at Inverkeithing, from his reports to the Directors of the London Missionary Society, and letters to Sir George Grey, the Governor of the Cape at the time of his last trip. With a portrait front piece of Moffat, circa 1870, and a fold-out map at the end. Government Archives of Southern Rhodesia - Oppenheimer Series Number One Volume Two.
