Front cover gilt illustration and titling, and gilt titling on the spine. 40 full colour plates by Irish illustrator Hugh Thomson with captioned tissue guards, plate facing page 16 is detached, but present in place. 170 pages, rough-cut fore-edges, some foxing in places. Split along binding at first end-paper, that has been reinforced with a strip of heavier paper, and split starting at binding of rear pastedown.
