The Nature of the Universe, A Series of Broadcast Lectures by Fred Hoyle.
Published by Basil Blackwell, Oxford 1950 (First Edition)
This book contains an early use of the "big bang" expression, and was derived from a series of radio broadcast lectures on astronomy for the BBC.
This hardcover book is in a fairly good condition but does not have its dust cover which shows on the cover as use is clearly evident, there is however no damage to report.
The pages show only slight age discolouration with no damage evident anywhere. The photography is still crisp and clear and in a wonderful condition.
It is fascinating to see how views have changed over the years and how our understanding of the Universe have changed, and even stayed the same. A very interesting and good book to add to your collection.
