The Nelson R. Mandela 1/10 OZ PLATINUM, 90 years Commemorative Medallion was released in 2008. Only 2000 pieces were minted. Its was produced by the Mint of Norway to the following specifications:

About the item

The medal comes in purpose made plastic box, with the description on the box: Nelson R. Mandela, 90 years, 2008

The front of the medal has the face of Mandela as per the photo and the back has the key dates in Nelson Mandela's life such as: Born Umtata 1918, Rivonia Trail 1964, Robben Island 1964-1990, Nobel Peace Prize 1993, Democratically Elected President 1994, State President 1994-1999

The medal comes with a Mint of Norway certificate with the unit number on it.

According to a big retail outlet, there has been huge demand for this particular medal and it is currently selling at R10 500, with a 10% increase due within the next few weeks.
