The Old Houses of the Cape by Hans Fransen and Dr Mary Cook is a survey in both words and pictures of traditional 18th Century Dutch houses and farm buildings that still existed in the 1960's. Many of the places covered in the book still exist making this an invaluable reference work for anyone interested in buildings of this period.  Black and white photographs have been included throughout the book as well as plans for some of the buildings.  

The book is in good condition but the dust jacket is very tatty.  There is foxing but this is most pronounced on the first and last few pages. 

A valuable addition for the bookshelf of anyone who is interested in Dutch architecture!!
