Hardcover published by Andrew Melrose Ltd, 1914, no jacket. The boards are worn, with very many shallow scratches scouring the surfaces, and a graze to the head of the spine; a smear of blue dye from the spine has leached onto the top external page edges. There is a public library stamp on the first end-paper. The frontispiece portrait tissue guard is intact, and all photographic plates are present and well bound. That opposite page 234 has a small liquid stain to the top corner. The pages are all lightly tanned, but otherwise clean and unmarked.
