Description

Steve Coogan and Jonathan Pryce star in this comedy drama from director Peter Cattaneo. In 1976, British teacher Tom Michell (Coogan) takes a job in Argentina. Setting up in a school in Buenos Aires teaching English to a class of privileged teenage boys, his new position is challenging with most of the children seemingly wanting to be anywhere but in the classroom.

When he helps to rescue a penguin stuck in oil on a beach, he soon finds himself with a penguin companion as the animal follows him home. Seeing an opportunity, he invites the penguin into his lessons with the hope that a defenceless animal may have more luck getting through to his students. The cast also includes Bjorn Gustafsson, David Herrero and Hugo Fuertes.
