R. Gheyselinck, The Restless Earth: Geology for Everyman. London: The Scientific Book Club, 1939.
22 x 14.5 cm, hard cover, publisher's cloth, 285 pages, a few plates.
Cloth a little mottled (see image), endpapers foxed. The text block itself is very clean. Binding slightly slack. Generally very good. No dust wrapper.
The Restless Earth: Geology for Everyman is an interesting example of early-20th-century popular science publishing the kind of book aimed at educated general readers rather than professional geologists.
The text first appeared in Dutch and was translated into German before the English edition appeared.
