Sir George Cory MA D.Litt Kings College,Cambridge Professor, Rhodes University Grahamstown,GE Cory. Well known historian of South Africa. Came to S.A. in 1891. First professor of Chemistry at St. Andrews College, Grahamstown. He was appointed Government Historiographer after Theal's death. He was especially interested in the 1820 Settlers and Eastern Cape.
