"Documents to Illustrate the English Voyages to North America Under the Patent Granted to Walter Raleigh in 1584". Hardcovers issued by the Hakluyt Society, second series, 1955, volumes 1 and 2 in like condition, no jackets. The boards have some minor marks, with minimal edge-wear, and the spine of volume 2 is cocked. Pages 841 / 842 and 843 / 844 of volume 2 are unopened at the edge. The removable map of Raleigh's Virginia is undamaged and present in the pocket of the rear of volume 2. The external page edges of both volumes are foxed / spotted.
