Ultra RARE 1967 S.A ONLY The Rolling Stones LP entitled The Stones Are Rolling, with a very unique, psychedelic album cover and different album title!! A bit of history on this: this album was released as Their satanic Majesties Request officially worldwide but only here in our country, due to apartheid laws, was the title changed as the original was seen as 'bad'. Therefore, this LP is regarded as highly sought-after worldwide and one of the most collectible Stones LP according to various online sources. Prices have peaked up to $ 400 on online auctions, mainly eBay (visit popsike.com).
Cover - for a 46 year-old African press, this laminated cover has been surprisingly well cared for. Finding classic rock LP's in our country, and most other places as well, that are VG+ condition is extremely hard, as these were heavily played! No obvious defects whatsoever - spine bearing album name is legible, cover retains a smooth texture, NO tears/writings/watermarks etc but obviously shows some minute handling wear along the opening spine, but well above VG. Other than few small creases here & there and very faint ring mark, this cover is in beautiful condition, therefore I would conservatively grade at EX-
Vinyl - The centre label bears the important UNBOXED blue & silver Decca logo (TXL. 103 catalogue number) On the 1st side, the label is bright and vivid, with just some very minimal wear visible near spindle hole. The 2nd side shows more of the same great condition, however there are 2 short and black lines near the 'Decca' logo, which suggests there may have been a sticker pasted there. Otherwise, the labels are in very good condition
The vinyl itself, observed under strong light, obviously shows evidence of play however there are no destructive scratches, more like faint, hairline scratches which do not affect playback. One had the chance of playing this LP in its entirety and it really sounds like a true 60's mono press, and only contains mild crackle at the beginning and in between tracks - seriously doesn't spoil the listening experience, no skips etc. The vinyl does also retain a decent shine amidst all of this, and can be easily excused as acceptable due to being an extremely rare LP that is difficult to find anywhere , let alone in a condition like this. Therefore, I will put the grading at VG- .
Overall, EX- // VG-. You will not see this LP again for a long time. With free shipping...
