Old Trafford - Home to the most successful team in British football, Old Trafford first opened its gates in 1910 after Manchester United's chairman, John Henry Davis, donated funds to build the stadium. With standing room for 80,000 spectators, it had its own railway station and hosted the largest pre-Second World War attendance of 70,504. Today it seats 75,957 fans making it the second largest stadium in England. The Munich Tunnel is all that now remains of the original construction.
Old Trafford's nickname, "Theatre of Dreams", was coined by Sir Bobby Charlton in1978, one of the united trinity whose statues grace the stadium along with Sir Matt Busby.
