The boards are clean, with some minor wear to extremities, and a slight lean to the spine. The fold-out map between the first end-paper and the title page is present, but with a short tear at the edge nearest the binding. Apart from some scattered and light foxing / spotting, the pages are clean and unmarked. Many illustrations from sketches and photographs. By J. Theodore Bent, F.S.A. F.R.G.S. with a chapter on the mensuration of the temples by R.M.W. Swan. The index is incomplete, ending at the beginning of "G", (as published, not removed), and these pages are closed along the top.
