The Shaft

by David J. Schow

Macdonald, 1990, hardcover, first U.K. edition, 361 pp.

Condition: overall very good, except for some dampstaining to the page edges and inner edges of the dust-jacket. This copy has no inscriptions and the binding is very firm. The fore-edge is dampstained for the first 20 or so pages, with the top edge being somewaht dusty and also bearing signs of dampstaining. The black boards are in excellent condition, spine titling gilt. The dust-jacket is in good condition, lightly rubbed, and the spine ends are lightly creased; the inner surface of the jacket bears heavier staining, more so at the top. This copy is unclipped and bears the original price of 12.95 pounds.

This first edition is apparently extremely scarce and collectible, with copies on offer at around $200 US (approx. R3600).
