This account of a Cape Civil Servants journeys only three years after the Zulu War of 1879 is a gem for African Collectors. It describes battlefields still covered with war relics, conversations with combatant Zulu Warriors and the hardships- of travel in Zululand almost a century ago.

It is a fascinating part of the fast disappearing literature on early Natal. We are therefore pleased to be able to offer this reprint from a special early edition containing a number of illustrations which did not appear in the fascinating original publication. They give additional interest to a valuable and absorbing sourcebook of early Natal history.
