Fortuitously, at this time, the German philologist Wilhelm Bleek and his English sister-in-law Lucy Lloyd started to record as much as possible from these hunter-gatherers: their stories, myths, songs and practices. Today the Bleek heritage is considered to be among the world's most impressive ethnographic studies.
