The Story of the Royal Army Service Corps [RASC] and Royal Corps of Transport [RCT], 1945-1982.

This book tells the story of the Royal Army Service Corps and later the Royal Corps of Transport. A story which follows the Corps from Aldershot to Korea, from Kenya to Aden and Radfan, through Malaysia to the Middle East, Iceland, Norway and Belize, from Buckingham Palace to the streets of Northern Ireland, and more recently to the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic. A story which traces the many tasks undertaken by the RASC throughout the world from 1945 to 1965, to the formation and development of the RCT and its achievements to date.

In the RCT is embodied all the tradition and dedication to service that distinguished the RASC. Although in a sense this is the story of two Corps, the common thread that binds the two is the very best characteristics that have been passed from father to son. In presenting this story we remind the younger generation of the achievements of the RCT and we hope that the older generation of the achievements of the RCT and we hope that the older generation who served with and loved the RASC will feel proud that their fine traditions are being continued.
