John Millington Synge was an Irish playwright, poet, writer, collector of folklore, and a key figure in the Irish Literary Revival. He co-founded The Abbey Theatre, Dublin, with W. B. Yeats. His works include The Playboy of the Western World (1907), Riders to the Sea (1904), The Shadow of the Glen 91903) and The Tinker's Wedding (1909).
