The focus is on the Tygerberg Hills and the three adjacent urban areas of Bellville, Parow and Durbanville. The first chapter sketches the forces and processes that shaped the region physically. The next three chapters are concerned with the story of man in the environs of the Tygerberg, while chapters 5, 6 and 7 discuss the soils, agriculture and rich natural heritage of the region. In the final chapter ways of reconciling conflicting land claims are suggested.".
