This is a thoroughly illustrated autobiography of Hans H. Amtmann, who began his aeronautical engineering career in Germany, and after the war, was invited tio the US under Project Paperclip. He was one of several hundred former German engineers and scientists recruited by the US government to assist the American aerospace industry in the immediate postwar years. This book documents Mr. Amtmann's career in wartime Germany as well as his experience as a member of the Paperclip team. The author became an American citizen and worked in the aerospace industry until his retirement. The author has worked for such giants of the German aviation industry as Heinkel, Junkers and Blohm & Voss as well as American firms such as Convair. This book contains 173 photographs and 20 drawings and illustrations.
