The Warriors for PlayStation 2 is a critically acclaimed 3D action-adventure beat-'em-up game developed by Rockstar Toronto and published by Rockstar Games in 2005. It is based on the 1979 cult film of the same name and is widely considered one of the best movie tie-in games ever made. 

Plot and Story

The game serves as both an adaptation and a prequel to the movie. 

• Prequel Missions: The first two-thirds of the game's story explore events that took place three months prior to the film's main narrative. These missions detail how the Warriors gang was formed in Coney Island, how members like Vermin and Cochise joined, and how they built their reputation by confronting rival gangs like the Destroyers and the Orphans across New York City.
• Film Adaptation: The final third of the game follows the iconic storyline of the film. The Warriors attend a massive gang meeting in Van Cortlandt Park where the charismatic leader of the Gramercy Riffs, Cyrus, is murdered, and the Warriors are framed for the crime by the Rogues' leader, Luther. The rest of the game focuses on their desperate, nocturnal journey back to their home turf in Coney Island, fighting off thousands of vengeful gang members and the police.
