This book tells a story of Max Sonnenberg's life as he told it in his own words. It was at the urging of General Smuts, among many other friends, that in his later years he decided to recount this tale of a vivid and varied career. Unfortunately, just as he wished to start, his health began to fail and in order to reduce the strain the author of this book was called in. Together they had many discussions over several years and by degrees Max Sonnenberg's remarkable life story was set down, with its many unusual yarns of a day that has gone and of people who wrote their names in the history of South Africa. As the tale developed the author felt more and more that this book would have an appeal to all interested in the country of South Africa.

Hardcover. English. Max Sonnenberg. 1957. 188 pp with black & white photographs. Good with edgeworn dw in protective plastic. Book No: 2505643
