by Meta Orton (1912-2001)

Self published, Oct. 1983, True Art Printing, Durban, 4001, 438 pages

The engaging and fascinating autobiography of Meta Orton, edited and proof-read by herself, recounting herĀ  life from her humble origins: born in Pietermaritzburg of an English father and Scottish mother, to her worldwide travels. After the death of her parents and having inherited the family fortune, she embarked on her travels of the world, to such places as Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Middle East, Europe, Russia, South America, and the Antarctic.

She also founded an artists' workshop at her home in Umhlanga Rocks after selling her flat in London and moving back to South Africa.

Condition: good; contents clean and acceptable, wrappers slightly discoloured with the spine and edges being lightly worn. Signed "For my good friend Delysia" on the front free endpaper.
