Published by Qualitas, Mandini, 1979, hardcover, illustrated, 188 pages, dust jacket protector, ex-library book with some labels, otherwise condition: very good.
A scarce little book published by the Natal Provincial Administration for the centenary in 1979. It consists of a series of papers by different contributors mostly looking at aspects of colonial Natal's involvement with the Anglo-Zulu War. These include political and economic aspects of the war, how settler society in Natal coped during the war, the story of the Prince Imperial, the NNC and other Natal units, an excellent chapter on the Biggarsberg district (which includes Helpmekaar and Rorke's Drift) during the war, and the Rev. Owen Watkins' account of the services of the Edendale Horse.
