This sculpture appears to be a patinated bronze, likely of European origin, depicting a laborer or historical figure.

Based on its features and similar pieces, it may be an antique decorative object sometimes repurposed as a lamp base. 

Historical Figure/Laborer: The attire and tools (like the axe and staff) are consistent with 19th-century "Le Travail" (Work) style bronzes,

such as those by Italian sculptor Carlo Nicoli or French artist Emile-Louis Picault.

The figure itself shows a deep brown patina typical of bronze

Base: It is mounted on a stepped marble base, a common feature for 19th-century French and Italian decorative arts.
