A good hardcover book considering its age. No dustjacket.
There is wear to the cloth covering and a large stain to the back board.
Board corners are bumped and burst.
Head and tail of the spineband are softened.
Offset to the end-papers.
Paperblock edges a tad dusty and lower edge is untrimmed.
351 pages, including the index and with 14 illustrations and two maps.
This is an ex book club book and so has a plate to the front pastedown and stamps to the front end-paper and title page.
There is also a retailer's label affixed at page 339.
