EDITION / DATE	Facsimile Reproduction of the 1877 edition which was published by Edward Stanford, London. (1968)
ILLUSTRATIONS	Several monochrome photographic and line illustrations and a large folded map of the Gold Regions covered in the book which is contained in a pocket attached to the rear fixed end paper.
CONDITION	The dust wrapper is tatty with extensive scuffing, edge wear, chipping and a large piece missing at the top of the spine panel. There is a name written on the front free end paper and the book itself is good condition with a tight binding and very clean.
NOTES	From the Introduction: 'This book has been selected as the first Volume in the Rhodesiana Reprint Library as a tribute to the painstaking pre-pioneer exploration work carried out by Thomas Baines, in the country which is now Rhodesia.' It is a very interesting reference work which covers the topic extensively.
