This medallion commemorates the centenary of South African coinage commencing with the issue of the Burgers Pond in 1874.

It was struck by the SA Mint and boxed and issued for the 5th National Convention of the Transvaal Numismatic Society.

Weight 26.6 grams. 38 mm in diameter. Struck in bronze.
