Three original handwritten letters on Ad. Goerz & Co., (Limited under German Law) stationery, dated 4th December 1894, 11th December 1894 and 13th December 1894. All are addressed to the Secretary, Rand Mines Limited, Johannesburg.
The first consists of two full pages, and a smaller handwritten piece, all pinned together. The second page of the letter contains a Rand Mines stamp, indicating this letter was indexed on 5/3/1912.
The second letter is a single full page, again directed to the Secretary, Rand Mines.
The third is similarly addressed, also a single page, and with two carbon copies of replies received from Rand Mines appended, addressed to the Chairman and Directors of Metropolitan Gold Mining Company Ltd.
A fourth typed letter on Metropolitan Gold Mining Company, Limited stationery, dated 18th December 1894, addressed to The Secretary, Rand Mines Limited, and signed by the secretary for Metropolitan Gold Mining Company Limited, containing a resolution by the board, completes the collection.
These letters deal with the sale of seven claims from Metropolitan Gold Mining Company to Rand Mines, and are enclosed in a folder bearing a handwritten title, along with a Rand Mines stamp indicating an index date of 5/3/1912.
