Three Sterling Silver Major // Colonel Heydenrych Shooting Trophy Medals

There are one Major Heydenrych medal (1935) and two Colonel Heydenrych medals (1937 & 1939). Two of the medals are named to G.E. Bright and all three are hallmarked for sterling silver (Birmingham). The medals weigh on average 17 grams each

According to Laidlaw “Major and Honorary Colonel C.P. Heydenrych, V.D. served with the Rand Rifles during the Boer War and with the Witwatersrand Rifles during the First World War. He later commanded the South African Armoured trains during the 1920's. In retirement he was appointed the first Honorary Colonel of the East Rand Commando. He is well remembered for his encouragement of marksmanship within the Union Defense Force”.
