Creeping Thyme, Mother of Thyme, Wild Thyme [Thymus Serpyllum] is the robust, long-blooming beauty of plant varieties. This thyme (sometimes commonly called creeping thyme, wild thyme or mother-of-thyme) is a creeping, woody based perennial which is primarily used as a ground cover. Numerous, thin, somewhat woody stems form a flat mat (8-10cm) with tiny rounded, glossy blue-green leaves. The foliage is attractive even when not in bloom, too, with dark green, slightly hairy leaves. It is evergreen!!
Creeping Thyme, Mother of Thyme, Wild Thyme [Thymus Serpyllum] is covered by clusters of tiny, tubular, deep pink flowers that appear in summer. This super-vigorous, lemon-scented, brighly-flowered variety spreads in the sunny garden, giving you months of deep pink blooms and heavenly fragrance. Creeping thyme is perfect in rock gardens, walls, bare spots in sunny beds and borders, and just about anywhere that needs some quick, permanent coverage. It is a long-lived perennial, and you can expect years of beauty from this trouble-free groundcover!
The plant attracts bees and butterflies.
The plant is drought tolerant.
