Small, clumping air plant from Mexico/Guatemala with silvery-grey leaves that turn a pretty pink when the plants come into flower. The flowers themselves are purple in colour.
Cultivation: grow without soil, mounted an a piece of bark, or on a tree branch etc. Best kept in a semi-shaded area, some sun if fine but avoid the hot mid-day sun. Wet the leaves regularly (in summer at least 3 times a week, or more. In winter much less then that) They enjoy a bit of humidity and combine very well with orchids, ferns, palms and bromelias. They do not mind cold in winter, but are not frost hardy.
