Tillandsia oaxacana (plants)

Medium size Tillandsia (air-plant) with silvery-grey, narrow, curved leaves. Flowers in summer, pink to violet in colour

No soil required, mount them on a piece of bark, driftwood or on a tree, or just grow them suspended in the air.

Best kept in a sem-shaded area, some direct sun is fine, but avoid the hot mid-day sun if possible. Wet the leaves regularly, at least three times a week in summer (less in winter) Good companion plants for Orchids, Ferns, Palms, Carniverous plants and of course other Bromeliads. They do not mind the cold in winter, but they do not tolerate frost. Try and maintain a fair amount of humidity, too much dry air will dry out the tips of the leaves.

Feed with orchid fertilizer from time to time but only at 1/3 of the strength recommended on the bottle/bag.
