This is a wonderful old etching of the entrance to the Castle in Cape Town.
The Castle is the oldest building still standing in South Africa and its entrance is still part of the original old structure.
It has not changed much since Tinus de Jongh's etching from the 1930s.
The etching is titled and signed in pencil. The frame is in excellent condition and is appropriate.
The frame is 40 x 34 cm and the etching itself is 22 x 17.5 cm.
There is a bit of dust under the glass but not too serious. I must emphasise that there is no dust on the etching itself so you could put new glass on if you wanted.
Putting on new glass is not expensive, especially if you go to a glass fitters, not a framers and would be done automatically if you had the etching reframed.
Secure packaging and tracked postage is only R50.
