The National Mutual Life Association of Australasia Ltd. building was designed by famous architect Herbert Baker. The gabled facade made of imposing Cape Granite, built in 1905, is in his iconic Cape Revival style, an interesting fusion of Cape Dutch, Renaissance, and Victorian influences. This is the original building, still standing, predating the matching extension of 1933. . The old Senior Civil Service Club is on the left, still intact today.
Framed simply as it would have been done at the time of printing. Simple clean lines with no embellishments to distract from its simplicity
