NUMBERED 33/150 in the top left hand corner, and with the signature and studio blindstamp in the bottom right hand corner.

The general rule is that the lower the number in the run the stronger the print, and this certainly is a very lovely dark print with no signs of fading or sunning.  One of the best I have seen, both in terms of condition and in terms of the beauty of its subject.

I have sold a lot of Tinus de Jongh etchings and this is the first one of this subject that I have come across. Not many have the studio blindstamp and number.

Stellenberg is now in the middle of the suburb of Kenilworth and is one of the great Cape Dutch houses. I believe it is owned by the Ovenstones who have an open day once a year. The garden is also one of the best in South Africa.
