Tinus de Jongh Signed Etching. WORCESTER DAM. Very Rare!!

This is a much larger and wider etching than the normal Tinus de Jongh etching size: 39 cm x 20 cm within indent. Image size 36 cm x 16 cm. Frame is 48 cm x 30 cm.  In excellent condition.

Signature bottom left. 

This is a very rare etching. When I showed it to the gallery run by Tinus de Jongh's grandson in Cape Town, they had never seen it before.

I eventually found the matching oil painting by Tinus de Jongh on which it is based. Identical signature bottom left.

It was put up for auction by Strauss 12 October 2015 with an estimate of R30 000 to R40 000.  See screenshot below.

The mountains in the background place it at Worcester with the vantage point from the far side of the Dam, now a shopping centre.
