Polished stainless steel case presented on a handsome leather band with distintive holes, hinting at the holes often found on the steering wheels of elite sports cars. A stationary bezel in contrasting black and white bears a tachymeter scale in black, used in determining the speed of a vehicle travelling over a set distance, as wel as a pulsometer scale in white. A pulsometer is used to determine a person's pulse rate. The PRS516 is graduated for 15 pulsations, meaning an operator counts 15 beats of a pulse after the chronograph button is pressed . At the 15th pulse, the second hand shows on the pulsometer scale what the pulse rate is. The white dial features three sub dials trimmed in black, displaying 1/10th seconds, small seconds and chronograph minutes. Luminous hands and hour markers ensure outstanding visibility in dark conditions, while the anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass, one of the hardest substances known to man, ensures most excellent resistance to scratches. The stainless steel screw in case back proudly bears the Tissot racing wheel design logo, further capturing a legacy of auto racing in a classic PRS516 design.
