This is a genuine 2018 South African R1 coin featuring the classic springbok design,but with a serious minting error that sets it apart from regular issues.

A die break (raised line of metal) has occurred beneath the grass on the reverse, right where the AL mintmark (Alwyn Louw) is normally struck. Due to this error, the mintmark is completely obscured or missing,replaced by a rough, raised formation caused by a crack in the minting die.
