TMC2208 Stepper Motor Drivers (Serial Control)

The TMC2208 provides an integrated motor driver solution for 3D-Printing,Cameras, Scanners and other automated equipment applications. The device hasan integrated microstepping indexer, the completely noiseless current controlmode StealthChop2 and is intended to drive a bipolar stepper motor. The outputdriver block consists of low RDSon N-Channel power MOSFETs configured as fullH-bridges to drive the motor windings. The TMC2208 is capable of driving up to2A of current from each output (with proper heatsinking). TMC2208 is designedfor a supply voltage of 5...36V. The device has a step and direction interfaceand can be configured with digital pins.

What does that mean for 3D Printers and Marlin?
Well Marlin now supports the TMC2208 which enables UART/Serial control to andfrom your drivers which communicates high current draw which enabled Marlin toknow when steps are skipped, filament is stuck, or even homing your axeswithout the use of endstops.
