First edition, first impression of the British first edition published by Heinemann in 1960.Dust-jacket is not price-clipped but has some prominent creasing on the front panel and tape stains on the front and rear flaps as per image.Book has a single former owner's name on the front endpaper and tape ghosts on the endpapers as per image.A very rare edition of one of the greatest American classics about adolescence and the battle against injustice which won the Pulitzer prize and is to date the reclusive author's ONLY published book.Harper Lee was author Truman Capote's('Breakfast at Tiffany's','In Cold Blood') childhood friend and the book is believed to be at least semi-biographical.A must-have for any worthwhile collection.Unsigned copies of the more visually appealing British first edition range from anything between R2500 in poor condition to R11000 in very good condition.Signed copies fetch up to R80 000!!
