To Serve the Future Hour: A History of St Stithians College

Condition: ; Very Good (VG)

Author: Walter Macfarlane

Format: Hardcover

ISBN 10:  620344539

The foundation of St Stithians College in 1953 could not have happened at a more inauspicious time. The Nationalist Government had launched Christian National Education, a narrow sectarian and racist policy, and the Transvaal Provincial Minister for Education had publicly stated "Private Schools have no right to exist".

To Serve the Future Hour is not only the history of an independent school, but also the story of how, fifteen years before the first Democratic Election in 1994, St Stithians College defied the unjust laws of the land when it admitted children of all races.
